At the center of this latest marketing push are print and tablet posters shot by Japanese photographer Teru Onishi. The posters were commissioned by Walgreens ad agency of record GSD&M in Austin. Texas. Onishi’s goal was to create art of out Walgreens’ beauty products.

The posters are part of Walgreens’ effort to inform customers the drug store chain now has what it describes as an “elevated beauty experience.” That means, in stores that have gotten the lifestyle makeover, customers will find beauty advisors to clue them into appropriate trends, tips and beauty tricks.

Walgreens said it is also introducing a seasonal sample beauty box as a gift to customers who purchase $30 or more of beauty products.
